Brian Alas competed at Cooperstown Dreams Park with the Port Washington Legends three times from 1997 to 1999. During Brian’s first trip to Cooperstown, he set the record for most strikeouts in a six-inning game with 17. His last trip to Dreams Park, Brian’s team finished fifth in the tournament, one of the highest finishes for a team from their area.

Brian continued his baseball career at Chaminade High School (Mineola, NY) where he was a four-year letter winner in baseball and basketball. He received the Frank “Boiler” Burns Award for the second most outstanding student-athlete in his senior class of 400. Brian served as captain of the baseball and basketball teams his senior year (2004), and was an All-Long Island selection following his junior year (2003), hitting .429, including 29 RBI in an 18 game span. Brian finished his high school baseball with a 22-4 record on the mound.

After his high school graduation, Brian attended the University of Richmond (Richmond, VA) where he excelled in the classroom and on the diamond. Brian graduated as the Spiders' all-time leader in both saves (26) and appearances (108), recording a team-leading 4.41 ERA his senior year while earning a spot on the All-Academic Team.

Since his college graduation, Brian has been working as Vice President at Boxwood Partners.
