Doug Nikhazy

Doug Nikhazy played at Cooperstown Dreams Park in 2012 in Week 2 with Team Florida (FL) and in Week 11 with All American Pride (FL). Both weeks were successful as Doug and his teams were crowned Cooperstown Dreams Park champions. Fifth-seeded Team Florida beat 6th-seeded Stetson Hills Stealth (AZ), 13-5, for the Week 2 title while 15th-seeded All American Pride topped 5th-seeded California Lumberjacks (CA), 4-1, for the Week 11 trophy. Doug pitched in both games for a total of 13 strikeouts over 5 innings pitched and he hit a home run in the Week 2 title match.

Doug played baseball throughout high school at West Orange High (Windermere, FL) where he was Student Body President. He lettered all four years, playing right field and pitched. Doug’s high school career includes two-time district champion in 2016 and 2017, making a trip to the state final four in 2017. After his high school graduation in 2018, Doug continued his education and baseball career at The University of Mississippi (University, MS).

On the mound for Ole Miss his freshman season (2019), Doug made 20 appearances and 14 starts, finishing with a 9-3 record and 3.31 ERA. He set the Ole Miss freshman record with 86 strikeouts.  Doug’s freshman accolades include USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Member, Freshman All-American (Perfect Game, Collegiate Baseball), Freshman All-SEC, and SEC Freshman of the Week (Week 8, Week 11). Heading into his sophomore season (2020), which was cut short due to the global pandemic, Doug was named a Pre-season All-American (Collegiate Baseball, NCBWA). He did work to a 3-1 record, 2.35 ERA with 31 strikeouts and nine walks over 23.0 innings pitched. Doug was also named SEC Pitcher of the Week (Week 2) and was a Third Team All-American (Collegiate Baseball). At the start of the 2021 season (junior), Doug was named to the Pre-season All-American (Perfect Game, Collegiate Baseball) list.
