Jake Skole

 

Jake Skole was a member of the 2004 East Cobb Astros (GA) during week 3. In 2010, Jake became the 15th first round pick of Major League Baseball's amateur draft. He was selected by the Texas Rangers.

2010 also marked Jake's senior year for the varsity baseball team at Blessed Trinity High School (Roswell, GA). Although an ankle injury limited the final season of his high school career, Jake was able to return for 14 games, recording a .452 BA with six homers and 21 RBIs.

Prior to his final varsity baseball season, Jake signed football and baseball scholarships with Georgia Tech (Atlanta, GA). Jake, who currently holds two Cooperstown Dreams Park 12 and under records - "most bunts hit by a player for singles in one game" (7) and "most consecutive bunts hit by a player for a hit" (7), elected to sign with the Texas Rangers and begin his major league career.

Jake's professional career began in 2010, playing in the rookie league with the Arizona League Rangers. After 8 games, Jake moved over to the Spokane Indians (Spokane, WA), a class A short season squad affiliated with the Texas Rangers. In 65 games, he posted a .286 BA with 51 hits and 27 RBI. Jake currently plays for the Rangers Class A team the Hickory Crawdads (Hickory, NC).
