Anna Kimbrell

Anna Kimbrell competed at Cooperstown Dreams Park in 2003 with two different teams. In week 3 she was a member of the Piedmont Patriots (SC) and in week 4 was part of the first all-female baseball team to play at Cooperstown Dreams Park, the WBL Sparks (CAN). Anna's Cooperstown Dreams Park memories include meeting several new friends both weeks and advancing to the Sweet 16 with the Piedmont Patriots (at the time, the Patriots was the highest seed to ever make the Sweet 16).

Anna continued playing baseball through high school, becoming the first female baseball player to compete at the scholastic junior varsity and varsity levels as well as American Legion in South Carolina. She played JV baseball at Fort Mill High School (Fort Mill, SC) from 8th grade to her sophomore year (2005-2007). As a junior and senior (2008-2009), Anna competed on the varsity baseball team at Nation Ford High School (Fort Mill, SC). In addition to baseball, she was a member of the JV basketball team (2005-2006) and the Varsity swimming team (2004-2009). Anna's swimming accolades include Varsity team captain, MVP, All Region, and relay event state champions (several years in a row). On the diamond, Anna received the Falcon Award. In 2006 and 2008, Anna made the Women's National Baseball team. Unfortunately, Anna tore her ACL in 2006 and couldn't compete with the team in Taiwan. In 2008, she traveled with the national team to Japan and competed in the Women's World Cup. The squad brought home the bronze medal.

After high school graduation, Anna made the transition to college softball and played her freshman season (2010) at Samford University (Birmingham, AL). She transferred to the University of Alabama at Birmingham (Birminham, AL) prior to her sophomore year and has played the last two seasons (2011 and 2012). In addition to her playing softball, Anna and her team participate in community service projects such as camps and helping younger kids with baseball/softball fundamentals. Her professional career includes the Assistant Grounds Keep at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium and a member of USA Baseball Women’s National Team.
