Elizabeth Janangelo

 

Elizabeth Janangelo is one of the first female players to compete at Cooperstown Dreams Park when she was a member of the West Hartford All Stars from Connecticut in 1996, Cooperstown Dreams Park's inaugural year. Since then she has excelled on the golf course, recording successful careers at the high school and collegiate levels. In 2008, she made her professional debut touring on the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) circuit..

According to her LPGA profile, Elizabeth was one of the country's top amateurs as a junior. She was the top player on the boys' high school (Conard High School, West Hartford, CT), golf team as a freshman and sophomore. On the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) circuit, she won eight events. She was a two-time Polo Golf First-Team All-America selection in 2001-02, and was the 2001 Polo Golf Girls Junior Player of the Year. She was a five-time Connecticut Women's Amateur Champion.

In December of 2001 she signed to play golf for the Duke University (Durham, NC) . In her first year at Duke, Elizabeth became the third freshman golfer in school history to be a National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) First-Team All-American selection, and was also named the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Freshman of the Year. In 2005, Elizabeth carded a Duke and NCAA-record round of 62 at the ACC/SEC Challenge. She topped the school's all-time list with 30 top-10 finishes and was a four-time All-ACC selection.

Upon graduation from Duke, Elizabeth became a member of the Duramed Futures Tour. In 2007, she recorded two victories on the Futures tour - Greater Tampa Duramed FUTURES Classic (Riverview, FL) and Mercedes-Benz of Kansas City Championship (Leawood, KS).

In December of 2009, Elizabeth qualified for the 2010 LPGA tour for the second time in her career.
