YOUTH BASEBALL COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. The 12U Generals baseball team had an impressive run on Saturday, sweeping both games. They first dominated the Alexandria Senators 14-2, building a 14-0 lead by the third inning. Despite the Senators' effort with two runs in the fourth, the game was cut short by the mercy rule. Key hits for the Generals came from B. Northcroft, H. Focht, H. Kirkland, and G. Lovinger, among others. In their next outing, the Generals continued their hot streak against the Hudson Valley Renegades, securing a 12-3 win. Jump-starting with three runs in the first inning, they consistently expanded their lead. While the Renegades broke into the scoresheet in the fourth and fifth innings, the Generals responded strongly each time, racking up a total of 14 hits to the Renegades' 7.
