The opening pitch of the 2004 season at Cooperstown Dreams Park was thrown out by a young man who suffered an injury early in the tournament and couldn't compete the rest of the week. Alex Levis of the Montreal Royals (Montreal, Canada) was injured sliding into second. Although he was safe and got his double, Alex could not continue in the tournament. Alex threw out the first pitch to his dad and coach Victor Levis.
