Cory Schad was a
member of the CNY Major League All-Stars
who attended Cooperstown Dreams Park
during the National American Tournament of
Champions (NATC) in 1999. The team was
crowned NATC runner-up and were the Around
the Horn champions.
While in high school at Bishop Grimes
Jr/Sr High School (East Syracuse, NY),
Cory was a member of the soccer and
basketball teams in addition to being a
four-year letter winner for baseball. In
2004, he received the Wendy's High School
Heisman baseball award. At the completion
of his senior year, Cory was named Class C
Player of the Year (2005).
Cory competed for four years at the
collegiate level. He first played for
Mohawk Valley Community College (Utica,
NY), where he received an Associates
Degree in Liberal Arts. He spent his
junior and senior years at Cazenovia
College (Cazenovia, NY). His on-field
performances for Cazenovia recorded him
with the Division III NCAA 4th highest
on-base percentage and the 11th highest
batting average in the nation. Cory was
also named to the 3rd Team Division III
All-Region team.
After receiving a Bachelor's Degree in
Sport Management from Cazenovia, Cory
worked as a member of Cooperstown Dreams
Park's Baseball Operations Department and
was recognized as a Steward of the
Game.
