Chris attended
Cooperstown Dreams Park with his team
Lederach Lugnuts in '96 and again in '97.
He also came to the park with the Boys of
Baseball National Travel Team in '97. He
remembers playing with his baseball
buddies from home with the GREAT Lederach
Lugnuts! When he played with the Boys of
Baseball, they made it to the Championship
Game! While at Cooperstown Dreams Park, he
made some of his best baseball memories
ever!
In high school, Chris was a four-time
varsity letterman. Chris has the honor of
having an award named after him, the Chris
Lubanski Blue & Gold Award, and was
the first recipient of this award! He was
a two time league MVP and All City and All
Area Player of the Year.
Chris was the first round draft pick of
the Kansas City Royals in 2003 and was the
#5 pick in the nation! He won a Gold and
Bronze medal with Team USA (U-18 baseball)
and was named First Team All-American by
USA Today, Baseball America and Collegiate
Baseball. He was named Gatorade National
HS Baseball Player of the Year.
He hit .326 as a rookie in the
professional season and was named Arizona
League Top Prospect. He was Player of the
Year for the Burlington Bees (Class A) and
for the High Desert Mavericks (High Class
A). He earned the honor of being the
Mid-West League All-Star. He led the Texas
League (Double A) in Triples and Walks in
2006.
